I can really be dense sometimes. The completely wrong expectations were because this was unlike anything I have read before.

And, well, it was that, but also not? It was much darker than expected, and definitely on the older side of YA. And most of that darkness was due to Hades.

Like whoa man, his thoughts are full on. The story is told in third person, and as has been previously discovered, I can stand bad characters but not bad writing.

Almost every little thing was described with a lot of detail and even more metaphors. In a rare turn of events, there was actually too much show instead of tell.

Almost every feeling was told to us through the characters behaviour and actions. All of this bogged down the story and that, and my unfortunately timed book slump, meant it took me a while to get through this.

Question One; what was your inspiration behind Project Pandora? Donald Ewen Cameron, and the eugenics movement. The Bourne Identity movie was also an influence.

Question two; Project Pandora is your debut novel. It has an underlying theme of Greek mythology which we all know is a mixture of good and evil.

Is this a subject you have a special interest in? Greek mythology is definitely an interest of mine. Question three; The book has a darker side to it than most teen reads.

Was this your intention from the start? I knew from the beginning that it would be a dark, gritty story. Tyler got my depression, Elizabeth and Shannon got my doubt and anxiety.

Hades got my existential crisis, sort of. Question four; Did the book turn out the way you expected? Hades was originally going to be a minor character with only a few chapters from his point of view.

I planned to make him the antagonist and an irredeemable jerk. Instead, he turned out more morally ambiguous than I intended, and in the process of edits, became my favorite character.

Question five; Project Pandora is just the start of this series do you already have something in the pipeline for the next installment?

I have written the sequel and an accompanying novella. Thank you so much for answering my questions Aden Polydoros and I hope this helps readers.

With shades of Jason Bourne, morally ambiguous characters, and trained teenage assassins, I absolutely devoured this book in two days. This is a dark, intense YA read I found difficult to put down.

Although this book is heavy on action, all the characters are captivating and well-developed - but by far, my favorite is Hades. He made the book for me.

Project Pandora knocked it out of the park. Project Pandora is about four teens that are involved in this project where they are sent to out to kill people.

Hades is aware of what he is and knows what he does while Shannon, Elizabeth and Tyler have no memories of who they are or what they do.

Shannon and Tyler have lived in foster homes all their lives and Elizabeth has always had her parents. Hades beings Project Pandora is about four teens that are involved in this project where they are sent to out to kill people.

Hades beings aware of who he is and what he is; lives with one of the head leaders of Project Pandora. When Shannon and Tyler meet and Elizabeth and Hades meet and their memories start falling apart they all start wondering who they are and about what they have done.

When memories start falling apart Project Pandora also starts falling apart from the inside. When their memories start coming together they start to wonder if inside of all of us are we all capable of killing?

Do we all have darkness inside of us? And if we are capable; what would it take for us to act on this darkness? Project Pandora is filled with lots of suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what is around the next corner.

This one would make a fantastic movie one that I would love to see on the big screen. When I was reading Project Pandora it was like I was seeing a movie that was being played out in my head.

Would I recommend Project Pandora? Why yes of course I would to anyone who loves a great suspense and books that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Jul 30, Lisa Mandina rated it really liked it. And as I read it, I could totally see it being a movie. While at first I had a little issue telling the difference between some of the characters, specifically the two girls, after a while it got to make more sense.

The idea behind Project Pandora was very intriguing, although I would have liked a bit more background information.

You really felt for the characters, especially as their minds began to flash back to what they had done in the past, or what they were in the middle of doing.

You felt the connection between the teens for sure. Hades, one of the main characters, and Elizabeth, or Persephone, had a connection that you really rooted for.

This is a very easy read, lots of excitement to keep you turning pages, needing to know just what is actually going on, and who is pulling the strings of these teens.

Apr 08, Michelle Hauck rated it it was amazing Shelves: Full of characters who are not black and white but a dirty mottled gray, yet still seeking for redemption.

Darker than your normal young adult story, Pandora Project takes you out of the box to someplace new that exposes the darker side that lives in all of us.

Jul 05, Olivia Farr rated it really liked it Shelves: We follow four teenagers who are all part of Project Pandora.

They all have code names from Greek mythology and perform special jobs e. She finds herself drawn to a stranger at a banquet, Hades, and does not want to play her perfect role if it means staying away from him.

They become closer and begin to date as things spiral out of control. Shannon Artemis and Tyler Apollo go to a nearby public school, and they are attracted to each other- unknowing that their extracurricular activities include murdering people together.

Things really begin to change as Hades begins to evolve and break free from the reigns of his captors and Tyler is able to resist the assassination brain washing.

In part, the book follows teenage romance, but the bigger part of the book focuses on Project Pandora and the control a group of people have over the teens.

We get the idea that this is all a very small part of a much bigger plot, and it seems that this will be continued in a sequel. There is main character death here, which I am including in my review for people who may want the warning!

The book is extremely intense and really only appropriate for older teen audiences, mostly because of violence, torture, and abuse.

Overall, I found it enthralling and hard to put down as we follow these four unique but engaging characters on their journeys of self-discovery.

Despite the many viewpoints, it was easy to follow and the story unfolds beautifully! I am looking forward to seeing where this series may go in the future.

Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own. Much Different than I was expecting!!!!!

I finished this a few months back and just forgot to do a review. It was interesting that the characters other identities, had to do with Greek mythology.

I found this really hard going. Although there was plenty of action I just could not relate to the characters which felt wooden and lacking in depth.

I got a smidgen of an Orphan Black vibe with this. I really enjoyed that whole shadowy project vibe. Discovering all the secrets, and trying to unearth the purpose of why this all was happening was pretty interesting.

I enjoyed the writing of this story. It had a nice flow and kept me reading. This book had some pretty intense scenes too!

Some things that really shocked me, and made me feel bad for the characters. My favorite character to read about was Hades.

I found him the most interesting. His time in the Program has messed him up. His story packed the most feels. My second favorite character was Tyler.

Elizabeth and Shannon had some interesting moments, but I feel the book could have done better with less main characters to follow.

It had a cool concept, but I sometimes wondered what was the point of everything? What were they going to do next? What the ultimate plan was?

The series begins following four young adults with the chapters changing the point of view between them as their stories begin to unfold and find out how they are involved in the project.

The story is a bit of suspense mixed with some romance with the relationships forming between the characters. I did start off this one finding it a bit confusing in the beginning trying to remember which characters was which as each of them also have a Greek code name used when they are under the influence of the project.

Then there is also parts between chapters where the "subjects" in the project are also referred to as a number so that also added in trying to keep track of who was being referred to at which point.

The story however was a fun one to follow as it built throughout the book. The opening pages throws the reader right into an assassination and builds the intensity of what and where could this go from here.

After reading this installment to the series I decided on giving it 3. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

For more reviews please visit https: Focusing on Tyler and several other teens, the group starts to realize they are connected not only to each other but something much bigger.

The word assassin is in the title. I received an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review, thank you Entangled Teen for the opportunity!

Hades was a personal favorite of mine as he usually is and this interpretation of his character was dark, angsty and really kept the plot moving. As many fun elements this contained, there were some issues with the characters and writing style.

Several of the side-characters seem particularly underdeveloped and have very stilted dialogue. Outside of that, there were several places were the word choice was… odd.

This was certainly fun, and holds a lot of potential. If the character-work improves and the sentence structure cleans up a bit, I think the scary-real-science and fast-paced-plot will make for an awesome series.

View all 4 comments. First of all, I wanted to thank the publishers for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review! I truly ended up liking it way more than I was expecting and it was definitely a binge read for me.

The storyline intrigued me straight from the first chapter, although the character that really deserves every. His char 4 phenomenal stars for this book!!!!

His character was just so well crafted and his backstory was just!!! I liked this book. I decided to read this book because I really liked the premise of the story.

While there were parts of the book that were really exciting, this was never a book that was hard for me to put down. In the end I thought that it was a pretty good story.

There were some things that I really liked about this book. I thought that the overall concept was very exciting. The backstory about how this organization started and how everything worked were some of my favorite parts of the book along with some of the sections of the book when the agents were on the job.

I liked those parts of the book enough that I really wish that there had been more of them. I thought that the action scenes in the book were very exciting and really enjoyed all of them.

I think that there were probably too many points of view in this book. Some of the points of view were really quite similar.

I really preferred the parts of the story that gave us Hades point of view a lot more than any of the others. I think that it really slowed the book down to have so many different points of view.

I had a few other issues with motivation and coincidences. I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks the concept sounds interesting.

This was an exciting story with quite a few interesting twists. I am a bit on the fence on whether I will continue this series or not at this point but I am definitely open to reading more of Aden Polydoros work in the future.

I received a review copy of this book from Entangled Teen. Initial Thoughts I liked this one and thought the concept was exciting. I did find the book rather easy to set aside at times.

I enjoyed Hades point of view in the story much more than the other three characters. This does not effect my opinion in any way. Well that was definitely intriguing!

I really enjoyed the multiple POVs that were used in this story, especially once we discover how all of these characters are connected.

Project Pandora has a pretty creative and unique storyline. There were four POVs within Project Pandora and we quickly come to realize who each of these characters are and how they are all connected to one another.

As mentioned above, each of the featured characters are connected even though they have no idea that they are. I really liked that aspect of this story and how everything slowly unravels to reveal how exactly each character is connected.

What can I say? They always end up being some of my favourite characters. They all have such interesting pasts and you want to learn more about what made them the way that they are.

Hades was the perfect example of this type of character. Project Pandora moved at a bit of a slow pace for me personally.

I struggled a bit at first to really get into it. From that point on the pacing was great! The Lack Of Answers? However, I did still feel as though not enough questions were answered.

Most of the only answers we got were toward the end of the novel and I really would have liked them to have been expanded on a little more.

Even though I am an avid supporter of behavior modification, I would never push it to the extreme that was done in this book.

But now I am fascinated and want to r 4. But now I am fascinated and want to read more books about it! Aden Polydoros is onto something.

I found that I really liked the four different POVs. Four is a good number. Not too much, not too little. I can remember who everyone is and their stories.

There was more variety, which is always a good thing. In between the POVs were interviews or status reports, things of that nature.

It added a mystery The whole book was like this. It gave just enough information for you to be satisfied but forced you to read on if you truly wanted to know what was going on.

When you continued to read, you were rewarded with more information that made everything just click. Hades was the definition of an anti hero.

I felt so bad for him because of how he was conditioned. I just wanted him to be happy. I love how devoted he was to Elizabeth. Their story just made me smile and my heart all gooey.

I would love to get a book about just those two because they were just my favorite. It was more slow burn and it was about a different part of Project Pandora.

I appreciated their story. They reminded me of Russian sleeper cells. I have no idea. Overall, I am pleased with this book. Because after that ending, I have to know more.

What an intense story with interesting characters! Aug 16, Sherwood Smith added it Shelves: Switching between four points of view, we are introduced to four teens who have been mind-controlled into becoming trained killers.

Only the memory blocking begins to fail. This is another entry into the killer teens subgenre, in a contemporary setting. It took me a while to get into it as the voices sounded largely the same, making it difficult for me to tell the characters apart, though as the story builds, that becomes less of an issue.

I think teen readers will enjoy the tension and action Switching between four points of view, we are introduced to four teens who have been mind-controlled into becoming trained killers.

I think teen readers will enjoy the tension and action; adults are more likely to wonder what the point of teenage mind control is, when there are so many more effective methods, such as hiring hitmen.

But this is a series, and no doubt all will be made clear. Polydoros writes vivid action scenes, and manages to create a sympathetic anti-hero in Hades especially, resulting in insta-love romance.

Copy provided by NetGalley Aug 15, Courtney rated it liked it. And for his debut novel, I think Aden did a decent job. I really enjoyed the idea of this book, it was the delivery that pulled me back from this 3.

I really enjoyed the idea of this book, it was the delivery that pulled me back from this loving this book. This book is told in third person, which is ok for me.

When telling a story in third person, there will be a lot of inner dialogue. However, in this book there was a lot of purple prose and that hurt the flow of the book for me.

I found myself getting bored at times and wanting to skim through parts just so I could see what happened next. I needed to know where the story was going and what would happen next.

It was intriguing and could see this easily being made into a movie. Overall, it was good read. The characters were fairly well developed, but as I said, it was sometimes hard to tell which POV I was reading from at times because their voices were not distinct enough in that right.

I will definitely be checking out the next book from Aden. Aug 03, Alison rated it liked it. I have a full non-spoiler video review of this on my channel: This is from the point of view of more than two characters four to be exact , and it is way more than a romance which the summary makes it seem it is.

This is about teenagers who have been born in labs, and brainwashed to fill government positions and also to become assassins. As they grow older, they are placed into homes and their memories are erased.

I I have a full non-spoiler video review of this on my channel: In order to fill out assassination jobs, they carry burner phones, but can never remember the actual job after it is done.

This is a story more about how they come to realize what is going on and what they plan to do about it. This was a really fast read; it is full of action and because it follows four points of views, there is rarely a dull moment in the plot.

The story line itself is also pretty original, dealing with some science and politics and managing to blend romance and friendship into the mix.

While the premise of this was engaging and interesting, the characters were not so much. They felt like throw away characters. Also felt this was really confusing at times.

I do think that now that the basics are explained that the storyline only has room to grow and I think this series shows a lot of potential. Apr 17, Merrie Destefano rated it it was amazing.
